In December of 2019, I came across a non-profit organization whose mission spoke to my heart. Brooke USA aims to significantly improve the welfare of working horses, donkeys, and mules and the people they serve throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, and the Caribbean by raising funds and responsibly directing them to the areas of greatest need.
Making a difference in the lives of these animals benefits the very poor families who depend on them to earn a living.
A horse girl at heart, I knew I wanted to help make a difference...
Throughout all of 2020, I will be donating 10% of Mary Knack Photography's profits to Brooke USA.
It didn't take me long to decide I wanted to do something to help. I spent all of my fall semester in 2019 learning about Spanish-speaking countries, and many of them having environmental issues and a high population living in poverty. I saw that Brooke USA has been doing work in Guatemala and was very moved by this.
I am so excited to be making quarterly donations in 2020 to Brooke USA. 10% of Mary Knack Photography's profits will be going to this organization. That includes profits from photo sessions, print orders, fine art purchases, and any other income I have from this business. Knowing that my company is giving back drives me to keep improving it every day so that I can give more, and helps me know I am making some sort of difference.
